Avondale – La Luna 2010 – Paarl

The nose is aromatic, fine and quite incisive. It reveals notes of cassis, cassis bud and blackberry associated with slight notes of spices, flowers (violet, iris) as well as slight / discreet hints of sweet spices and a discreet hint of tobacco. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, gourmande, relatively fat, nicely fleshy and offers suavity, a beautiful silky matter and juiciness. On the palate this wine expresses notes cassis jam, blackberry and crushed strawberry associated with touches of redcurrant as well as slight notes of licorice and sweet spices. Tannins are fine and well done. Good length and persistence.
