Andresen – 40 Years Old Tawny Port

Andresen – 40 Years Old Tawny Port

The nose is fruity, elegant and offers concentration, power as well as a small richness. It reveals notes of zante currant , caramelized orange zest and small notes of prune associated with touches of cedar, citron, caramelized citrus, hints of dried blackberry, pepper, orange flowers as well as discreet hints of rancio, tobacco and almond. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, precise, very finely tight and offers unctuosity, fat, richness, tension, a good guideline, a beautiful straightness (full of finesse), a fine minerality (in the background), a fine power as well as a fine acidulous frame. On the palate this Porto expresses notes of fleshy plum, candied strawberry and small notes of caramelized orange associated with touches of zante currant , dried apricot, fine hints of almond, pâtisseries, spices as well as a discreet hint of tobacco and chocolate. Good length. Fine power and there are hints of caramelization, almond and pâtisseries on the persistence. Very beautiful aromatic and gourmand persistence. A beautiful wine!
