Amiral de Beychevelle 2016 – Saint-Julien

The nose is fruity and offers a good structure as well as concentration. It reveals notes of  crunchy wild red berries associated with small notes of flowers (violet, rose), tonka bean as well as discreet hints of crunchy blueberry and Cuben pepper. The palate is fruity, juicy, beautifully fresh, silky and offers a beautiful mineral frame, a good structure very finely tight, a beautiful juiciness, suavity, gourmandize as well as a beautiful delicacy. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crunchy/juicy cassis, crunchy/juicy cherry and more slightly crunchy raspberry associated with small touches of juicy red berries, gravels/terroir, flowers as well as discreet hints of tonka bean and spices. Tannins are fine and well-built. Good length. The finish is very finely tight and offers a very fine chew as well as gourmandize. There are very discreet hints of tonka bean on the persistence. There are fine hints of grilled and ripe almond on the finish/persistence..
