Alves de Sousa 2009 – Porto Vintage

Alves de Sousa 2009 – Porto Vintage

The nose is fresh, structuring and offers a slight power as well as elegance. It reveals notes of cassis, blackberry and slight notes of olive tree, ripe redcurrant associated with a discreet hint of blueberry as well as an imperceptible hint of eucalyptus, oleander and a slight hints of spices. The palate is frutiy, well-balanced, mineral, racy and offers a beautiful acid frame, freshness, elegance, a slight concentration, a slight tension as well as gourmandise. In the mouth this Porto expresses notes of wild blueberry, ripe cassis and slight notes of olive tree as well as a subtle hint of olive tree, roasting, cacao/mocha and a hint of spices. Good length. There is a slight hint of dark chocolate on the persistence. The aftertaste is slightly powerful. A fine, promising and concentrated Porto, full of finesse.
