Alter Ego de Palmer 2022 – Margaux

Alter Ego de Palmer 2022 – Margaux

The nose is pretty, elegant, gourmand and pulpy. We find notes of violet, pulpy blackcurrant and, more slightly, quite ripe blueberries associated with touches of small roasted black and red fruits as well as hints of pepper, iodine and an almost varietal or even sappy note in the background. There is a nice complexity. The palate is fruity, elegant and offers juiciness, a tangy frame, minerality, a beautiful gourmandise, tension, finesse, accuracy, a lovely delicacy, a multi-layered side, creaminess as well as ‘a nice airy side. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, bright purple plum and more lightly of creamy small fruits associated with touches of roast, blond tobacco, racy minerality, a subtle almost graphite hint as well as fine hints of camphor, fresh wild flowers, chocolate, bergamot and coffee (in the background). The tannins are supple and distinguished. This wine has a lovely delicacy, sapidity and a certain mellowness. There is a discreet saline side on the finish/persistence.
