Albert Bichot, Domaine du Clos Frantin 2018 – Clos-de-Vougeot Grand Cru

The nose is elegant, fruity and offers a controlled power, intensity, a beautiful finesse of the grain and deepness. It reveals notes of violet, violet plum, small notes of fleshy blackberry associated with touches of Sichuan pepper, small blue fruits as well as small hints of bergamot, lilac, cornflower, cloves, sweet spices, discreet hints of grey pepper and caramelization. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers tension as well as a beautiful definition, minerality (full of finesse/balance), generosity, an acidulous/juicy frame, roundness and fat. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy cherry, pulpy/juicy blueberry, small notes of fleshy cassis associated with touches of strawberry cream as well as hints of violet, lilac, sweet spices, discreet hints of nutmeg, vanilla, laurel berries, a subtle hint of tea, caramelization and caramelized hazelnut. Tannins are well-built, precise, structuring and elegant. Good length. A subtle saline hint, caramelization and vanilla on the persistence.
