The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is expressive, with floral and herbaceous notes at the opening (crushed mint, wet leaves, faded rose, peony, dried cornflower), combined with a savoury spiciness (grated nutmeg, white pepper, licorice) and a racy minerality (limestone, dry stone, a touch of earth). The fruit side is straight, tangy and chiseled: we find in particular the aromas of fresh cranberries, fresh red cherry, dried red cherry, crushed raspberry, crushed blueberry and morello cherry. The palate is tangy, tight, with grippy and slightly grainy tannins, balanced by a salivating acidity. We then find delicate spicy notes (nutmeg, licorice, a hint of Sichuan pepper), as well as herbaceous and floral notes (wet leaves, tobacco, dried rose, cornflower) less present than on the nose. A pleasant hint of tangy wild blackberry, bitter cocoa and toasted almond on the persistence. Tension, complexity, but the wine still needs to evolve.
