On the occasion of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, Italy will showcase a selection of twenty six wines chosen to embody the richness and diversity of its wine heritage. These labels, selected to represent the country’s main territories and indigenous grape varieties, will appear on the MUSA wine list, the hospitality house set up at Casa Italia during the Games from February 6 to February 22, 2026. Spread across emblematic venues such as the Triennale in Milan, Galleria Farsetti in Cortina d’Ampezzo and the Aquagranda complex in Livigno, Casa Italia will welcome delegations, partners and international guests within a cultural and gastronomic showcase of Italy.

The selection was carried out on behalf of the Italian National Olympic Committee by the team of LT Wine & Food Advisory with the support of leading wine journalist Luciano Ferraro. The objective was to offer a balanced representation of the Italian wine landscape, bringing together major producers, cooperatives and smaller estates. Each label therefore reflects a facet of the national wine heritage through important appellations and emblematic indigenous grape varieties. A significant number of these wines have also been tasted by the VertdeVin team and the corresponding reviews are available on the publication’s website.

For Luciano Buonfiglio, President of CONI, this selection provides an ideal way to celebrate the return of the Olympic Games to Italy twenty years after Torino 2006. According to him, these wines represent the authentic and diverse expression of Made in Italy that the organization aims to highlight during Milano Cortina 2026 through the MUSA project. They also offer an opportunity to showcase the uniqueness of Italian tradition and know how to an international audience. Luciano Ferraro also points out that the chosen wines illustrate the richness, diversity and progress achieved by Italian wine in recent years. They demonstrate the ability of producers, both large and small, to bring their wines to global markets. For Lorenzo Tersi, CEO of LT Wine & Food Advisory, wine at major international sporting events goes far beyond gastronomy. It becomes a tool for promoting Made in Italy and a form of cultural diplomacy. Each bottle carries the story of its territory, Italian know how and the authenticity that characterizes the country’s wine production. Through this selection, visitors to Casa Italia will be able to discover the mosaic of Italian terroirs and the diversity of a wine culture closely linked to the nation’s gastronomy.
