Mira Luna, Huile d’Olive Vierge Extra – Provence AOP (France)

(2025/2026 harvest) The oil has a deep golden color. The nose offers fresh notes of ripe tomatoes (kumato, beefsteak, pineapple tomato), fresh artichoke, a touch of fresh eggplant, as well as roasted zucchini and roasted eggplant. There is also a delicate fragrance of white flowers and a hint of dried fruit (dried hazelnut, dried cashew nut). The palate expresses a pronounced, but not excessive, bitterness (reminiscent of toasted notes – toasted almond, toasted hazelnut), which intensifies mid-palate. Then come flavors of pan-fried zucchini, roasted eggplant, roasted tomatoes, and roasted Mediterranean herbs, along with a hint of pickled artichoke. The finish is persistent, with a pronounced peppery note that adds a spicy touch. An expressive and flavorful oil.
