Brice Bezin becomes Cellar Master of Champagne Telmont
Brice Bezin becomes Cellar Master of Maison Telmont to carry forward the “In the Name of Mother Nature” project
Appointed to succeed Bertrand Lhôpital, Brice Bezin embodies both the continuity of Telmont’s savoir-faire and its strong commitment to sustainable, organic Champagne making.
Maison Telmont has announced the appointment of Brice Bezin as Cellar Master and Head of Supply. He succeeds Bertrand Lhôpital, to whom he had been deputy, marking a smooth transition rooted in continuity, the transmission of expertise, and loyalty to the House’s distinctive style. Bertrand Lhôpital remains a shareholder, ensuring a seamless and meaningful handover.
A native of Champagne, Brice Bezin began his career in California’s prestigious Napa Valley after earning his National Diploma in Oenology in 2015. There, he discovered the intricacies of winemaking and witnessed firsthand the early effects of climate change on the vineyard. This formative experience fostered his commitment to sustainable practices, such as organic farming, responsible water management, and environmentally conscious viticulture. After a stint in Canada, where he learned the art of ice wine production, he returned to the Napa Valley before settling in France, first in the Minervois, then in Champagne from 2018, working successively as oenologist and cellar master.
Drawn by Telmont’s oenological precision and deep environmental commitment, he joined the House in 2024 as Deputy Cellar Master. Working alongside Bertrand Lhôpital, a pioneer of organic viticulture in Champagne, he honed his mastery of precise, open-minded winemaking. Today, Brice Bezin perfectly embodies the Telmont identity, champagnes that are well-balanced, well-structured, subtle, and elegant.
Faithful to the Maison’s spirit, he intends to further reveal the authentic expression of the terroir through organic viticulture, without herbicides, synthetic pesticides, fungicides, or fertilizers highlighting the radiance and vitality of the soils. A meticulous and passionate oenologist, Brice Bezin represents a new generation of winemakers, both rooted in tradition and dedicated to a more responsible future.
“Becoming Cellar Master of Maison Telmont is a great honour… With enthusiasm and humility, I will continue Bertrand Lhôpital’s work, preserving the House’s unique style while deepening its environmental commitments.” (Brice Bezin)
