Solid expression of Cabernet Franc with close to no mintiness at all. Heavily concentrated and dense blueberries and blackberries with balsamic character. There’s a lovely freshness that holds up this pure & muscular wine to make it smoothly balanced. It’s a unique expression.
Reviver of old vineyards, garage wine co has pushed boundaries in Chile by producing single parcel, lot specific wines with grapes sourced from different small parcels generally from farmers who worked with a horse and plough. One of the single parcels, Lot 59 is a blend of seven barrels of Garnacha and one barrel of…
Very saturated purple, opaque color, KAI is a mix of concentrated bramble berries, cassis and spices (grounded black pepper & paprika) with accents of mushroom and graphite that gives it a nice complexity. It’s surprisingly soft and velvety, but still very firm, warm and dense in terms of structure.
Las Pizarras Pinot Noir is vibrant in every way full of raspberries, whortleberry, bilberry, rose petals, white plum, iodine and an interesting spicy character. It’s racy and proudly shows its coastal character. The palate is more savory than fruity, with saltiness, earthiness and spiced boldness. It’s finely textured and elegantly rich.
Pleasant apple, peach and melon aromas show a coastal-based saline side note. It’s overall crisp and focused with hints of more exotic flavors on the palate, papaya and mango. The finish is decent with a buttery, rounded character, but no apparent signs of oak except in the rich texture.
Dark and ripe, this wine is heavily smoky with intense aromas of blackberries, black currant, saucy plums, tobacco, rubber and an overwhelming green pepper presence. It’s very typical, nothing surprising, from the actual aromas to the heavy palate. It’s nicely done and balanced, especially considering the amount of strength & depth to integrate.
Folly is the adventurous range from Montes Alpha combining the steepest, highest slopes in Apalta with a bold varietal choice. Blackened in color and expression, the wine is condensed with cooked and sweet notes of blueberries, vanilla beans and coconut. It’s ripped to the core, robust and well balanced on the palate with smooth tannins…
The color is a bold opaque, inky purple. Classic, heavily wooded style, this wine shows a lot of empyreumatic aromas. Chocolate, grounded coffee, toast, smoke, charcoal and charred wood makes up the base of the aromatic profile. On the palate, the fruit is way more forward, with fleshy dark blackberries and cherries.
Full of character and freshness, this wine shows respect to all the main qualities of its blend (Cinsault, Païs, Carignan & Syrah) beautiful red fruit that shine, with crunchy tannins and structure. We navigate between strawberry jam and hot stone, with a hint of spice and orange peel. It’s an unusual, but charming cuvée.
