Association Alsace Crus & Terroirs (ACT)
Formed in 2015, ACT brings together 19 prominent Alsatian wine estates committed to showcasing the unique terroirs of Alsace through exceptional wine quality. This organization emphasizes terroir-driven winemaking, supporting sustainable practices that maintain biodiversity, soil vitality, and ecological balance. Members include renowned estates such as Domaine Zind-Humbrecht, Trimbach, Domaine Barmès-Buecher, Domaines Schlumberger, and Clos Saint Landelin. These estates adhere to a strict quality charter that prioritizes traditional winemaking techniques to enhance the individual character of each terroir. ACT is also involved in an initiative to establish a structured classification system in Alsace, with the potential addition of Premier Cru appellations alongside the current Grand Cru labels. This classification aims to provide consumers with clearer guidance on Alsace wine quality and terroir. This proposal is under review, pending final approval from French and European authorities.
