Bolgheri, June 26, 2025.

This year’s Vendemmia d’Artista auction concludes with a donation to the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation.

Following the online auction organized by Bonhams, Ornellaia has pledged a donation of $300,000 to fund conservation and in-depth analysis of works included in the Guggenheim Museum New York’s forthcoming exhibition Collection in Focus: Modern European Currents, opening on July 15, 2025.

During the auction, which ended on June 24, large formats created as part of Ornellaia Vendemmia d’Artista 2022 “La Determinazione” (Determination) by artist Pascale Marthine Tayou were sold to collectors around the world. In her interpretation of the character of the 2022 vintage, the Cameroonian artist has focused on the life cycle of the plant, while remaining true to her practice intrinsically linked to the materiality of color and joie de vivre.

“I would like to thank all the collectors who took part in the auction and who have for years shared our commitment to the art world, aiming to make it accessible to all. We are delighted to support the upcoming exhibition Collection in Focus: Modern European Currents at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. I, for one, can’t wait to see the works on display at the Museum,” says Lamberto Frescobaldi, Chairman of the Group.

By donating the profits from Vendemmia d’Artista to the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, Ornellaia reaffirms its commitment to preserving art as a universal heritage, with a view to widening access to art for all audiences.

Vendemmia d’Artista

Vendemmia d’Artista was launched with the 2006 vintage. Each year, a contemporary artist is invited to interpret the character of the vintage by creating a series of works that personalize the bottles. The project includes large-format bottles (double magnums, impériales and a Salmanazar), signed by the artist and sold at auction. Profits are donated to art foundations and museums around the world. This year marks the 17th edition of Vendemmia d’Artista, a project renowned for its commitment to facilitating access to art for all.
