Tenuta Luce presents the Lucente 2023

The new vintage is available on international markets: a refined blend that celebrates the structure of Sangiovese and the depth of Merlot.

Montalcino, September 2025 – Tenuta Luce announces the release of the new vintage of Lucente, a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot that fully expresses the estate’s style: an intense, modern, and harmonious red wine, capable of combining immediate pleasure with the elegance and personality of the Montalcino terroir.
“The 2023 vintage was characterized by variable weather conditions: after a very rainy May and June, September offered the perfect conditions for the harvest, allowing the grapes to express their full potential: sunny days and cool nights that preserved the fragrant aromas and excellent polyphenolic ripeness. The harvest began on September 1st with the Merlot and continued from the second week with the Sangiovese.” – says Alessandro Marini, the estate’s oenologist – “The Lucente 2023 is distinguished by its aromatic freshness, with mineral notes and hints of graphite. Its freshness makes it a wine with excellent ageing potential, while also giving it the ability to be enjoyed in its youth, expressing its character and structure, while demonstrating great aging potential.”

The Lucente is the result of a careful selection of the estate’s vineyards, identified as particularly suited to the production of a wine with a fruity and very pleasant profile: a refined blend that celebrates the structure of the Sangiovese and the depth of the Merlot and interprets the Montalcino terroir with freshness and a contemporary style. It is the ideal companion to Luce, the estate’s signature wine, and offers an experience that combines authenticity and elegance.

The vineyards, located between 280 and 418 meters above sea level, are southwest of the historic village of Montalcino. They are diverse, with different exposures, soil varieties, and altitudes. The soils are schist in the upper zone and mixed with clay in the lower zone. The altitude and southern exposure of the vineyards allow the grapes to ripen slowly and completely, giving them great concentration and vigor. The cool, windy nights help preserve the aromatic complexity of the raisins.

The new vintage of Lucente presents an intense ruby red color and this full-bodied wine is characterized by an aromatic bouquet: notes of blackberry and redcurrant blend with delicate toasted nuances. The palate is dense, intense, and elegant, with ripe, well-defined tannins that give it great balance and a long, harmonious finish.

Lucente 2023 will be available in major international markets starting in autumn 2025.

Tenuta Luce extends southwest of Montalcino, in the heart of the Val d’Orcia Natural Park: a rural landscape subtly reshaped by man in the pre-Renaissance period, with a focus on aesthetics and listed as an Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2004. It is in this extraordinary terroir, historically known for its high-quality wine, that the 249 hectares of the estate extend, consisting of vast wooded areas, olive groves and 92 hectares of vineyards, an unspoiled environment, sparsely populated and rich in biodiversity. The bright light, the fresh and ventilated air due to the particular exposure, as well as the variety of soils and altitudes, make Tenuta Luce a favorite place where the balance of all these elements is preserved with deep respect. A respect that is also found in the winery, where each step is carried out with the utmost care, in order to enhance the precious harmony achieved in the vineyard. From this philosophy and this unique terroir come the wines of Tenuta Luce: Luce, Lucente, Luce Brunello and Lux Vitis, as part of a virtuous project launched in the early 90s to obtain, through its own style, the best expression of Montalcino.
