The countdown to ProWein 2025 is on, and Düsseldorf is gearing up to welcome the global wine and spirits industry in full force. The city will once again turn into a dynamic hotspot for professionals from all over the world, offering a six-day programme filled with high-energy events, cutting-edge trends, and invaluable business opportunities.
With its wealth of experience and expert organization, ProWein is more than ready to make its mark in shaping the future of the wine world. This year, the fair will tackle key industry challenges, such as the looming threat of tariffs imposed by the US under President Trump and the ongoing crisis in global consumption patterns. Amid these uncertainties, ProWein provides the perfect platform to assess the shifting landscape of the wine market and explore emerging trends that will influence the global wine industry.
An Exciting Programme to Kick Off the Event
ProWein officially kicks off on March 13 with “ProWein goes City,” a unique programme offering wine and spirits tastings in restaurants, bars, and wine shops across Düsseldorf. This evening event serves as a warm-up for the industry’s most anticipated gathering, setting the tone for the days to come.
The action intensifies on Saturday, March 15, with the prestigious Meininger’s Wine Conference. Organized in collaboration with ProWein, this conference offers expert insights into current trends and the future of the industry. Under the theme “The Best Ways to Sell Wine,” the event will explore key issues shaping the future of wine, culminating in the presentation of the renowned Meininger Awards.
The Heart of the Action: Three Days at ProWein
From March 16 to 18, Messe Düsseldorf will be home to the world’s most important international trade fair for wines and spirits. Nine out of eleven exhibition halls will feature an extensive range of products from every major wine-producing region worldwide. Two additional halls will focus on spirits, offering a curated selection for retail and hospitality decision-makers under the ProSpirits banner.
Throughout the three-day event, ProWein will offer a rich array of supporting activities designed to enhance the experience for all attendees. The Business Forum will host sessions with high-caliber experts, while exhibitors will offer tastings and engaging activities at their stands. Key highlights include the Masterclass Forum tastings, the Champagne Lounge, the Organic World, the special Packaging & Design show, and the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux presentations.
Connecting Experts and Consumers
While industry professionals are immersed in the business-focused activities at the fairgrounds, ProWein bridges the gap to consumers through “ProWein goes City,” where over 100 events—including wine tastings, special menus, and cultural happenings—will take place throughout Düsseldorf from March 13 to 18.
This blend of professional and consumer events highlights ProWein’s role as not only a major industry gathering but also an opportunity to gauge wine trends at a global level.
Digital Innovation: Fair Match Networking Platform
ProWein is also embracing digital innovation with the launch of “Fair Match,” a new networking tool that facilitates direct, selective connections between exhibitors and trade visitors. This matchmaking tool aims to optimize fair visits by recommending personalized contacts, scheduling appointments, and providing a convenient chat function, making it easier than ever for professionals to connect and do business efficiently.
As Peter Schmitz, Director of ProWein, states, “Digitalization is what makes or breaks the success of trade fairs these days. With Fair Match, we’ve created an innovative platform that streamlines the process of finding the right business partners, discovering relevant products, and making the most of every moment at the fair.”
