Château Lafon Rochet 2023 – Saint-Estèphe, Cru Classé

A lovely fruity nose, elegant, precise, with a certain concentration in accuracy, purity, a lovely grain, a lovely textured-fresh. It expresses notes of fresh blackberry, pulpy/fresh raspberry and more slightly – small pulpy fruits, associated with fine hints of smoke, star anise and a hint of morello cherry and infusion. The palate is nicely mineral, fresh, balanced, multidimensional and offers a certain brilliance, a fine concentration, delicacy, a textured-fresh side, a good work on the good bitters in the background (discreet). It expresses notes of juicy/ripe blackberry, cassis, roasted raspberry and more slightly zan, toasted, associated with fine hints of cardamom, toasted-fresh, grilled, as well as fine hints almost fresh flowers in the background and a subtle hint of fresh black tea. Good length. The tannins are sapid and gourmet. A fine softness in the finish/persistence. Nicely mineral. Nice juicy bitters in the finish (toasted bitters, sappy bitters and cocoa bitters). Nice softness in the mouth
