Changing of the guard for the Association of Young Winemakers of Canavese (GVC)

The new Board of Directors and its new visions

The Association, founded in 2020 and representing a growing and cohesive group of producers dedicated to promoting the wine-growing region of Canavese, now counting 23 companies, approves the installation of the new Board during a crucial time for its members, who are harvesting the fruits of their work in the vineyards and are united in achieving future strategic and commercial goals.

The new Board of Directors includes the election of Riccardo Boggio as President, accompanied by Gualtiero Onore as Vice President, Gian Marco Viano as Treasurer, Alberto Mancusi as Secretary, and council members Francesco Pizzino, Costantino Huriuji, and Stefano Gurioli. These young wine entrepreneurs are committed to continuing the path of promoting and protecting not only wine production but also the cultural and historical heritage of Canavese, with a special focus on quality, interaction, and openness, following the efforts of the outgoing President Viano, Owner of the Monte Maletto Winery, who is very confident about the future of the Association.

“My journey as president of the association concludes with a wonderful edition of ReWine,” says Viano, “a journey in which the qualitative growth of the association’s activities has been constantly improving, attracting new young companies to join the Young Winemakers of Canavese. I wish the new board, of which I will be part as a simple council member, and the new president Riccardo Boggio the best of luck. He now has the responsibility to bring new energy and ideas to a group of dreamers, but also to those now aware of the vocation of the land they operate in and the ever-improving quality of their products.”

The statements of the new President, Riccardo Boggio, follow: “It is an honor for me to have been elected president and to represent all the Young Winemakers of Canavese. I will work hard to bring many ideas and projects, but above all, to move forward together. Our strength has always been based on collaboration and discussion, and that will continue. The new Board is already at work, and there will be great news and especially a lot of work to make the group even more united and aware of what we are creating. We must not forget that we come from the humility of aspiring to great projects, so the primary goals will remain study and research to allow each of these young people to produce great wines that tell the story of Canavese to the world.”

With a debut fueled by the desire to network and achieve common goals, with just ten member companies, today GVC is a well-integrated and active reality in the area with a total of 52 hectares of vineyards and a production aimed at enhancing native grape varieties such as Nebbiolo and Erbaluce, maintaining high quality and supply chain integration. The goal is to continue growing, both in territorial presence, internationally, and with the new edition of REWINE CANAVESE, the Association’s flagship event.

At the last edition of ReWine Canavese, held last May at the Officine H in Ivrea, the Association highlighted the improved perception and high standards of the area’s wine productions. Additionally, during its fourth edition, the best wines of the Association were awarded:

La Campore: Best sparkling wine
Decimofilare: Best white wine
NT Wines: Best red wine

A classic that confirms REWINE as a reference point for enthusiasts and industry professionals, establishing itself as a moment of exchange and promotion of Canavese.
