The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers a beautiful expression, complexity and precision. It expresses notes of aromatic herbs (bay leaf, dried thyme, rosemary, savory, peppermint), spices (black pepper, white pepper, nutmeg, liquorice), flowers (violet, peony, wildflowers) and plenty of ripe and candied fruit. It reveals notes of wild strawberry, fresh raspberry and raspberry jam, fresh morello cherry, roasted cherries, as well as crème de cassis, fresh black plum and blackberry jam. The mouth is juicy and warming. The wine expresses rich, ripe, slightly jammy and sweet fruity flavors of fresh sour cherry and jam, wild blackberry, crushed strawberry, raspberry jam, very ripe red plum and blackcurrant jam. There are also notes of savory sweet spices (cinnamon, white pepper, a hint of liquorice), dark chocolate and chocolate prunes with delicate and refreshing hints of dried mint and violets. The tannins are structured, but quite fine. A gourmand, juicy, expressive wine, quite rich, but with freshness, acidity and good structure. The finish is rather persistent, on the fruits and the gourmandise.
