Château Côte Montpezat, Cuvée Compostelle 2020 – Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux

The wine has a medium ruby colour. The nose offers notes of ripe and juicy red and black fruits (wild strawberry, red cherry, Morello cherry, red plum, black plum, raspberry, wild blackberry), a subtle spiciness (liquorice, white pepper, clove) as well as fine smoky notes, meat and roasted herbs (thyme, rosemary) and dried flowers (blueberry, violet). On the palate, the wine offers roundness, a silky tannic texture and a ripe, juicy fruity bouquet. There are flavours of fresh Morello cherry, strawberry, red currant, wild blackberry, blueberry and a touch of blackcurrant, as well as subtle spicy notes of white pepper, liquorice and cinnamon. The finish is persistent, with fruit, a delicate floral (violet, blueberry) and minty touch, positive bitterness and lively salivating acidity. A delicate, gourmet and pleasant wine.
