The wine has a medium ruby colour. The nose is aromatic with smoky and roasted notes at the beginning (of roasted meat, toast, roasted thyme and rosemary). This is followed by a ripe, juicy fruit bouquet: Morello cherry, blue plum, blackberry, blackcurrant, crushed strawberry and red cherry with a hint of peppermint, liquorice stick and smoke in the background. On the palate, the wine offers roundness and power. The red and black fruit flavours (blue plum, strawberry, morello cherry, blackberry, blackcurrant, raspberry coulis) are pronounced, ripe and warm. On the finish they continue with notes of roasted meat, grilled herbs (thyme, rosemary, laurel), sweet spices (white pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon) and a pleasant cocoa bitterness. The tannins are present, slightly drying, but enveloped by the rich fruit and a good level of acidity. A generous and expressive wine.
