Château Fontesteau 2022 – Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois Supérieur

The nose is juicy, fruity and open. It expresses notes of morello cherry, tart red cherry, fresh blackcurrant, strawberry and red currant, accompanied by spicy touches of licorice, white pepper, and herbaceous notes of dried mint, thyme, as well as notes of violet and vanilla in the background. On the palate, the wine is firm, a bit astringent. The tannins are powerful and grainy. The acidity is quite fresh and pleasant. The wine expresses maturity and power: the attack is rather juicy and open, the mid-palate and the finish are tighter and dry. We find notes of ripe morello cherry, crunchy blackcurrant, roasted red cherry, crushed strawberry, mint chocolate, licorice and violet. The finish is tight, astringent, balanced by a salivating acidity. Beautiful structure and good potential.
