Château de Chaintres – Vieilles Vignes 2020 – Saumur-Champigny

(Biodynamic) The wine shows a deep, youthful purple colour. The nose is intense, fruity and floral, revealing nuances of fresh, crushed raspberries, a touch of raspberry leaf, a hint of bramble and wild strawberries, a delicate note of blueberry in the background. The palate is intensely juicy, very fresh and succulent, revealing extraordinary brightness and clarity of fruit, elevated, crunchy acidity and grippy, ripe and bold tannins. The wine bursts with nuances of forest red and black berries, a hint of sweet spices, a touch of peonies and hibiscus, a subtle notes of black tea in the aftertaste. Slightly drying finish, concentrated and long, promising a long life.
