The nose is nicely led, fresh and reveals a spicy edge, some power in delicacy, a nice sense of detail, some concentration and a fine airiness. There are notes of wild blackcurrant/blackcurrant, cherry and more lightly berry/fresh fruit combined with fine hints of lily, violet as well as fine hints of star anise, a discreet almost camphor-like hint and a subtle hint of saline (in the background). The palate is fruity, balanced and reveals juiciness, acidity, good definition, fine grain, nice finesse, sapidity (in the background), energy and a certain gourmandize. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy cherry, red currant and more slightly wild/currant combined with hints of toasted almond and a touch of chocolate. Good length.
