Maison du Vigneron 2014 – Château-Chalon

The nose is elegant, precise and offers delicacy, richness, unctuosity, a nice definition, richness in finesse as well as balance. There are aromas of crushed yellow peach, quince and slightly almond combined with hints of white flowers, small medicinal herbal and hints of spice. There are notes of crushed small white fruits and a discreet hint of saline minerality. The palate is fruity, juicy, discreetly tight and offers a tangy frame, a certain fat, roundness, unctuosity, tension, precision, a nice balance, elegance as well as a certain aromatic purity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of zest, tangy / bright green apple, tangy vine peach and slightly kumquat associated with a touch of lemon caviar, crushed small fruits as well as a hint of acacia flowers, apple blossoms and a subtle hint of nuts and almonds. There are also very discreet hints of walnut vinegar and a hint of vanilla. Good length and a touch of almost chocolate on the aftertaste. There is a nice stretched side on the finish.
