Dalva – 20 Years Old Porto

The nose is precise, elegant, beautifully structured and offers harmony, a well-mastered small power as well as a small richness (full of finesse). There are notes of fresh quince, fresh yellow peach and small notes of candied small fruits associated with fine touches of lemon zest, a subtle hint of lychee, discreet hints of lemon blossom, hazelnut, toasted almond and rancio. The mouthful is fruity, well-balanced and offers juiciness, minerality, a fine freshness as well as an acidulous frame and a fine tension. On the palate, this Porto expresses notes of candied quince, crystallized mirabelle plum and small notes of small yellow fruits associated with touches of candied yellow apple, yellow peach as well as a subtle hint of candied apricot, discreet hints of patisseries, almond, tobacco and an imperceptible hint of pepper (in the background). A fine alcoholic hint on the persistence. A fine hint of cedar on the finish.
