L’esprit de Font Caude, Alain Chabanon 2015 – Coteaux du Languedoc

The nose offers intensity, elegance as well as a certain power. It reveals notes of wild strawberry, small wild red berries, small notes of crunchy plum associated with small touches of rose wood, dry olive tree as well as very discreet hints of liquorice and an imperceptible hint of pepper (in the background). The palate is fruity and offers suavity, juiciness, gourmandize as well as a very fine unctuosity, a small fat, a fine density, a certain straightness, a beautiful precision of the fruits, a small freshness and a racy minerality. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy redcurrant, juicy cassis, small notes of crunchy strawberry associated with touches of cherry, fresh lily/fresh flowers as well as discreet hints of racy minerality, olive tree, discreet hints of liquorice and spices. Tannins are precise and well-built.
