Château L’Evangile 2008 – Pomerol

The nose is elegant, fruity, racy and offers a beautiful definition. It reveals notes of fleshy blackberries and blue fruits associated with small notes of sweet spices, flowers / violet, undergrowth as well as discreet hints of nutmeg. The palate is fresh, fruity, well-balanced and offers a beautiful freshness, a good definition, a beautiful acidulous frame, a beautiful grain, a beautiful finesse / texture, a slight straightness as well as a beautiful roundness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fresh / juicy blackberry, fleshy / juicy cassis and small notes of blueberry associated with small touches of wild strawberry, undergrowth, spices as well as discreet hints of almond on the finish / persistence. Tannins are fine and elegant. There is a very discreet hint of salinity on the finish / persistence. Good length. Beautiful acidulous persistence.
