Clos de l’Oratoire 2008 – Saint Emilion Grand Cru

The nose is aromatic, elegant and gourmand. It reveals notes of blackberry, violets, crushed strawberry combined with small touches of vanilla, caramelized oak as well as slight hints of undergrowth, mushrooms and a slight hint of sweet spices. The palate is beautifully juicy, fresh, well-balanced and offers minerality, a beautiful acidulous frame, a very slight tension, a good dimension (width, depthness), a beautiful fat / suavity as well as a beautiful finesse of the grain. On the palate this wine expresses notes of blackberry, crushed cassis and small notes of fleshy Gariguette strawberry associated with small touches of minerality, sweet spices, chocolate / tonka bean as well as discreet hints of undergrowth / mushrooms. Tannins are very slight and very slightly firm. A beautiful gourmandise and a beautiful persistence.
