The nose is aromatic, gourmand and relatively powerful. It reveals notes of rancio, soft caramel / toffee and small notes of candied orange, candied quince associated with discreet hints of coffee, cedar wood, subtle hints of Zante currant as well as a very discreet hint of pepper and almond (in the background). The palate is fruity, well-balanced, quite gourmand and offers a beautiful definition, a fine acid frame, suavity, fat, roundness, a slight unctuosity, power, a beautiful balance, tension as well as a beautiful depthness. On the palate this Porto expresses notes of lemon, quince, candied orange, rancio, toffee and small notes of coffee associated with discreet hints of chocolate, grilled oak as well as a very discreet hint of sweet spices, Zante currant (in the background) and almonds. The finish is (very) discreetly tight. Good length.
