Dona Mathilda – Branco Reserva 2016 – Douro

The nose is fresh, fruity and offers gourmandise as well as a small elegance. It reveals notes of fresh apple and ripe brugnon combined with small notes of ripe pink grapefruit, zest, ripe tangerine, racy minerality and an imperceptible hint of eucalyptus and vanilla (in the background). The palate is fruity, well-balanced, well-built, a bit gourmand and offers a fine mineral frame as well as a fine suavity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of apple, lychee, rose and small notes of exotic fruit associated with a touch of ripe citrus / zest, discreet touches of eucalyptus and a very discreet woody hint / oak (in the background). Good length. There is a very discreet touch of vanilla on the persistence / aftertaste.
