THE JURADE DE SAINT-ÉMILION EXPANDS ITS REACH WITH THE OPENING OF ITS FIRST CHANCELLERY IN YAOUNDE, CAMEROON, ON APRIL 9

The Jurade de Saint-Émilion is pleased to announce the official establishment of its Chancellery in Cameroon, which will be inaugurated on April 9, 2025, in Yaoundé. The inauguration will be celebrated with a formal ceremony and a gala dinner at the prestigious French Embassy.

This new chancellery expands the international network of the Jurade de Saint-Émilion, which already has representations in Belgium, England, Malta, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Norway, and Ivory Coast. Each Chancellery embodies the mission of the Jurade: to promote the excellence of Saint-Émilion wines worldwide and to celebrate the cultural heritage of this legendary appellation.

An Exceptional Ceremony at the French Embassy

The evening of April 9 promises to be a significant moment in the cultural and gastronomic life of Yaoundé. Around one hundred guests, including political figures, cultural leaders, and key actors from the wine industry, are expected to attend the ceremony, which will be characterized by conviviality and sharing.

The creation of the Chancellery in Cameroon marks an important step in strengthening the ties between Saint-Émilion wines and the African continent. On this occasion, three renowned individuals will be officially inducted:

– Madame Ama Tutu Muna, former Minister of Culture and Arts of Cameroon and president of the culinary festival “Diaspora Kitchen,” will be appointed as Chancelière of the Jurade in Cameroon. Her commitment to promoting African cultures and cuisine makes her a natural ambassador for the dialogue between heritage.

– Monsieur Daniel Eboumbou, a recognized professor and consultant in communication, hospitality, and gastronomy, will become Vice-Chancellor. His unique expertise will actively contribute to the local development of the Chancellery and the organization of prestigious events.

– Finally, His Excellency Thierry Marchand, Ambassador of France to Cameroon, will be elevated to the rank of Peer of the Jurade, in recognition of his support for the promotion of French culture and the strengthening of ties between nations.

These solemn inductions herald many new chapters in the history of this young Chancellery, with its first page to be written on April 9, under the sign of transmission and respect for heritage.

A Gastronomic and Cultural Dialogue

The reception will highlight an unprecedented tasting dialogue between the great wines of Saint-Émilion and Cameroonian culinary arts, rich in flavors, spices, and textures. From the elegance of a great Saint-Émilion wine to the aromatic richness of traditional dishes like ndolé or grilled fish, this sensory pairing illustrates the ability of Saint-Émilion wines to enhance the cuisines of the world, while celebrating cultural diversity.

For this exceptional evening, an official delegation of Jurats, dressed in their famous red robes, will travel from Saint-Émilion. Their presence will demonstrate the significance of this foundational step and mark a moment of communion between French and Cameroonian traditions.
