Weingüter Wegeler

Let’s discover an historic Riesling winery of Rheingau and Mosel

A fourth-generation winery guided by Richard Grosche, Weingüter Wegeler cultivates 41.40 hectares in the Rheingau and 12 hectares in the Mosel, specializing exclusively in Riesling. Following their 2014 acquisition of the prestigious Krone estate in Assmannshausen, they also offer a refined selection of Pinot Noir.

The winery’s estates in both the Mosel and Rheingau consist exclusively of VDP Grosse Lage vineyard sites. The Mosel vineyards thrive on steep – sometimes even up to 70% – slate soils, while the Rheingau sites feature a diverse mix of slate, loess, and clay soils. Controlled yields, hand harvesting, and extended maturation uphold the winery’s high standards.
