Weingut Fichtenbauer Mold Grüner Veltliner Ried Dechant Kamptal DAC 2020

The wine shows a bright, crystalline golden-yellow colour. The nose is expressive and flattering, revealing notes of pollen, apple blossom, yellow apples, ripe fresh pears, a touch of quince, lemon and grapefruit zest. There is a slight lick of apple seed in the echo. The palate is powerful with a good fruit concentration and ripeness. The flavours mirror the nose with notes of ripe, yellow orchard fruits, white pepper, spicy notes, a touch of herbal bitterness. The wine has a nice, grippy texture but lacks a bit the acidity to balance the bright fruit. On the finish there is a distinct bitter note.
