The nose has notes of pyrazine with also hints of cigar box, camphor and more slightly saffron flower combined with hints of rather ripe red berries and a touch of dried plum. The palate has a mineral structure with freshness and juiciness. There is roundness and fatness. There is also a patinated quality. There are notes of ripe berries, a racy minerality, notes of violets and, to a lesser extent, of ripe, crunchy plums. There are also fine hints of star anise, tobacco box and a hint of chocolate in the background, as well as a subtle note of mushrooms. Good length. Discreet hint of pepper.
