The wine has a pale ruby color with slight garnet highlights. The nose is reserved at first, but opens up after aeration. It offers some density and complexity in tertiary notes that appear first (dry tobacco, fallen leaves in the background, a slight touch of dried rose, undergrowth and wet fallen pine needles). After aeration, notes of cocoa, dried wild herbs, dried rosemary and fresh wild mint are found. There are also aromas of dried red cherry, crushed raspberry, wild strawberry, morello cherry and crushed black plum, combined with touches of coffee, cocoa and toasted almond. Aeration also brings out floral touches of lilac and peony. The attack on the palate is tight, with an expressive bitterness of citrus (grapefruit, bergamot) and coffee, as well as gripping, but fine and powdery tannins, with a solid structure. On the mid-palate, we also feel fresh and dried fruits (dried red cherry, fresh red cherry, crunchy strawberry, raspberry, cranberries), associated with a mineral framework (dry earth, limestone), tertiary notes (fallen leaves, dry pine needles, undergrowth, dried rose) and herbaceous notes (dried wild mint, dried wild herbs). The finish expresses spicy (liquorice, white pepper) and toasted (toasted almond) notes envelopped in a salivating acidity and a ripe and roasted fruity substance.
