The wine has a pale ruby color with garnet highlights. The nose is open, perfumed, and offers complexity and a certain freshness. It expresses notes of crushed strawberry, red cherry jam, morello cherry, roasted raspberry, dried cherry, and dried cranberries. There are also distinct tertiary notes (undergrowth, dried rose, dry tobacco), combined with a herbaceous hint (dried mint, hay) and a fairly juicy fruity substance (crushed red cherry, strawberry, crushed raspberry, dried red cherry, dried raspberry, blackcurrant). There are also notes of flowers (lilac, dried rose, dried peony, wild rose), spices (nutmeg, white pepper, licorice, even star anise). The palate is refined, with a fine and powdery tannin structure, but quite solid. The attack expresses notes of dried cherry, dried raspberry, dried cranberries, crushed raspberry and red cherry, combined with tertiary notes (undergrowth, dried pine needles, dried rose). Then there are floral and herbaceous aromas (wild rose, lilac, dried wild mint), as well as liquorice, crushed cardamom and toasted aromas (coffee, toasted bitter almond). The acidity is refreshing and salivating. The finish is juicy, sapid and fruity – we feel the flavors of crushed red cherry, wild strawberry and roasted raspberry.
