Vinchio Vaglio Lipiai Piemonte Viognier 2024 – Piemonte DOC

(tank sample) The nose is fresh, a little reserved, but precise. It expresses more citrus aromas (lemon, lime zest, a hint of grapefruit juice), a limestone mineral framework, as well as tangy fresh pineapple, combined with a light touch of tangy apricot and white peach (but less than in classic Viognier). The palate is more typical of the classic profile of the grape variety, while remaining fresh and tangy. We find the more expressive flavors of stone fruit (apricot, yellow peach), complemented by a sweet hint of white flowers, as well as a beautiful citrus acidity. The texture on the palate is oily and round, well balanced by a salivating acidity. The finish is persistent and mineral. A chiseled and straight Viognier, rather than fleshy and round. Beautiful harmony.
