Villa Calcinaia – Vigna Contessa Luisa 2016 – Chianti Classico Gran Selezione

The nose is fruity and offers elegance, fine complexity, fine grain, precision and fine intensity. It reveals notes of wild strawberries, wild berries and small notes of fleshy wild cassis associated with fine touches of gray pepper, dried blond tobacco, jammy redcurrants as well as discreet spices. The mouth is fruity, well-balanced and offers a fine acidulous frame, suavity, fine tension, freshness, juiciness, freshness, fine smoothness and a small fat. On the palate this wine expresses notes of blackberry, strawberry and small notes of fleshy / crushed redcurrants associated with touches of olive tree / garrigue as well as fine hints of black olive, chocolate, blond tobacco and a subtle hint of nutmeg. Tannins are structuring. Good length. Presence of an imperceptible almost saline hint and a fine chew on the finish / persistence.
