Villa Calcinaia – Vigna Contessa Luisa 2013 – Chianti Classico Gran Selezione

The nose is fruity as well as relatively full and tight. It reveals notes of Boysenberry, wild berries and discreet hints of redcurrant, crushed raspberry associated with a hint of black olive, slight touches of spices and a discreet touch of Sichuan pepper. The palate is fruity, soft, juicy, relatively gourmande and offers a nice fat and suavity. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of raspberry, gariguette strawberry and slight notes of cherry, blueberry associated with a discreet hint of black cherry, black olive as well as discreet touches of licorice, toasted wood, vanilla and a very discreet hint of caramelization. Good length.
