The wine shows a medium deep ruby-purple colour. The nose is intense, slightly dusty, revealing notes of red and black plums, blackberry, a touch of green pepper, pungent spices like black and Sichuan peppers, notes of cinnamon and cloves. The palate is powerful, heady, offering a lot of concentration, bold, sticky tannins and warming sensation, without being too heavy. The palate is laden with layers of black berries and spices, a touch of torrefaction, some herbal notes of thyme and marjoram. The finish is warming, of medium length.
