The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. On the nose, it is reserved and requires aeration. The wine then expresses the fresh aromas of tangy red and black fruits: tangy bigarreau cherry, fresh morello cherry, tangy strawberry, crushed raspberry, cranberries, fresh blackcurrant, quetsche plum and blueberry, combined with notes of fresh peppermint, fresh basil (in the background), balsamic, tapenade, liquorice, a touch of clove and nutmeg, as well as a very discreet note of ground coffee and toast. There is also a subtle floral touch of violet and dried rose in the background. The palate offers juiciness and a tanginess of fresh red fruits: it expresses the flavors of fresh morello cherry, bigarreau cherry, cranberries, crunchy strawberry, crushed raspberry, fresh blackcurrant and blueberry, combined with notes of fresh peppermint, fresh basil, a savoury, but delicate spiciness (liquorice, ground cumin, cloves), as well as a touch of black tapenade, brewed black tea and dried rose. The tannins are firm, tight, slightly bitter, enveloped by salivating acidity and a juicy fruitiness, expressed in a fairly persistent finish.
