Vieira de Sousa – Branco / White Reserva 2015 – Douro

The nose is fruity, racy, mineral and offers a good structure. It reveals notes of quince, citrus zest and kumquat associated with fine notes of citrus, honey, a subtle hint of exotic fruit, vanilla (in the background), oak and hints of saline minerality as well as a very subtle hint of boxwood. The palate is fruity, fresh, beautifully balanced and offers a beautiful fat, a beautiful definition, finesse, a beautiful structure, a fine creaminess as well as an acid frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of exotic fruits, quince, ripe mirabelle and citrus associated with fine touches of beeswax, mandarin zest, slight toasted touches, vanilla (in the background), almost saline minerality and imperceptible hints of flowers / grove (in the background).
