The wine has a bright pale ruby color. The initial nose expresses a delicate mineral touch of tar, combined with a hint of smoke, fresh tobacco, and bergamot tea. Red fruits (fresh strawberry, dried raspberry, tart red cherry, a hint of blackcurrant, morello cherry, and crushed blueberry) then emerge, combined with notes of dried mint, blackcurrant leaf in the background, sweet spices (vanilla, grated nutmeg, liquorice, tonka bean), dark chocolate, coffee, and toasted hazelnut, as well as a floral hint of dried rose and fresh peony. The palate is tight, even firm at this moment. It initially expresses a good bitterness of cranberries, bergamot, and wild cherry, which is then complemented by notes of crisp strawberry, crushed raspberry, tart red cherry, and blackcurrant. There are also flavors of smoke, coffee, cocoa, toasted almonds, spices (licorice, white pepper, cardamom, a hint of vanilla), dried rose, violet, and tar (especially on the finish). The finish is persistent, toasted, and savory, with a salivating acidity of tangy fruits. A straight and chiseled wine.
