The nose is powerful, intense and offers a multi-layered side as well as an intense and velvety grain. It reveals notes of dried fig, very ripe small red fruits and small notes of violet associated with touches of blackberry as well as a fine hint of juicy date, blond tobacco, almond, pepper and a discreet almost grilled aromatic herbs hint. The palate is beautifully gourmand, suave, supple and offers freshness as well as acidity. On the palate this Porto expresses notes of dried fig, date and small notes of crushed blackberry associated with touches of cassis liqueur, tobacco/tobacco box as well as hints of toasted almond, clove and toasted hazelnut. Tannins are sapid and supple. Good length. A quite mature and evolved style but “desired” (and not suffered), in control and balance.
