The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose expresses a juicy, slightly sweet fruitiness. It expresses notes of chocolate-covered morello cherry, dried red cherry (with a hint of red cherry jam), wild strawberry, as well as redcurrant jelly and crushed blueberry. There is also a clear herbal touch of peppermint, dried blackcurrant leaves and dried tea, combined with notes of tobacco and pine needles. The spices on the nose are delicate and enveloping (liquorice, cardamom, even star anise, nutmeg) and combined with light notes of cocoa and toasted hazelnut. The palate is juicy, with a certain density and tension in the fruitiness. It expresses the flavors of tangy red fruits (red cherry, cranberries, crunchy strawberry, raspberry, red currant), combined with a bitter hint of bird cherry, refreshing herbal notes (dried blackcurrant leaf, dried mint), as well as sweet spices (liquorice, star anise in the background, a hint of nutmeg). The tannins are robust, slightly grippy, with a fine, powdery texture. The finish is tangy, tight and slightly bitter (cocoa, grapefruit, bird cherry), but juicy and savoury, with a salivating acidity.
