The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers savoury herbaceous and toasted notes (toasted hazelnut, roasted bouquet garni, dark chocolate), combined with juicy and sweet fruits (ripe morello cherry, roasted cherry, crushed raspberry, blackberry, crushed blackcurrant), and refreshed by a touch of crushed mint. There are also notes of liquorice, a hint of gray pepper, cardamom box, smoke and a light mineral touch (dry stone). The palate is airy and juicy, with fresh and tangy fruits on the attack (red cherry, cranberries, tangy raspberry, blackcurrant, bird cherry with a good bitterness), which are then complemented by herbaceous notes (blackcurrant leaf, a hint of rose stem) and roasting (coffee, toasted bitter almond). The finish is tight, tannic and slightly dry, but offers a fairly concentrated fruitiness, a salivating acidity and notes of bitter dark chocolate, which help balance the wine’s profile. Good length and sapidity.
