The wine shows a deep, shiny ruby colour with a slightly opaque core. The nose is delicate and restrained, it will benefit from being decanted. The bouquet opens up with nuances of crunchy red and black cherries, hints of black plums and prunes, subtle notes of cinnamon and nutmeg in the background. The palate is juicy and heady, intensely warming and astringent, revealing refreshing acidity and massive, grippy tannins. The wine offers juicy nuances of forest berries like raspberries and blueberries, a touch of kirsch, hints of vanilla, cloves and cedar wood. A very young wine which needs time to tame its tannins. Austere finish.
