The wine has a deep golden color. The nose is a bit reserved, but opens after aeration. It expresses notes of chestnut honey with a subtle bitterness, candied chestnuts, roasted golden apple, roasted quince, very ripe juicy yellow pear, candied orange peel, lemon jam, dried apricot, as well as apple blossom, iris and a fine touch of crystallised mint, hay and white pepper in the background. On the palate, the wine offers richness, a round and suave texture, balanced by a salivating acidity. The flavors are concentrated, sweet and expressive: we find notes of fresh crushed golden apple, roasted golden apple, ripe juicy yellow pear, mirabelle plum, peach in syrup, pineapple in syrup, candied lemon peel, candied orange peel and dried apricot. There are also fine notes of acacia honey and apple blossom, with a spicy hint of white pepper on the finish. The finish is quite persistent, with refreshing acidity and notes of fruit in syrup. Richness and good balance.
