Triskelè, Nero d’Avola 2021 – Sicilia DOC

The nose is spicy and offers concentration, a certain depth, a discreet veiled side, fine velvety and racy minerality. The wine benefits from being decanted. The nose expresses notes of boysenberry, small ripe red forest fruits and small notes of crushed/fleshy blackcurrant associated with touches of white pepper, cinnamon stick, wild pepper, warm local grove, as well as a fine toasted/toasted almond touch. The palate is fruity and offers a nice tanginess, a nice freshness on the palate, a small spherical side and energy. It expresses notes of pulpy/tangy purple plum, juicy/pulpy raspberry and small notes of bright cherry associated with fine touches of balsamic, spices as well as a hint of local garrigue and a subtle hint of incense. Beautiful acidity from the limestone. Hint of chocolate in the background. The tannins are savoury, mellow and sapid. A nice balance of freshness/acidity, fruit and with airiness to its matter.
