The wine has a pale ruby color, with very slight garnet reflections. The nose is warm, even with a hint of alcohol. It expresses notes of morello cherry in kirsche, crushed red cherry, black plum, crushed wild strawberry; blackberry and crème de cassis, combined with notes of peppermint, fresh rosemary, bay leaf, liquorice, nutmeg, white pepper, smoke, coffee and roasted meat in the background. We also find a very subtle note of lily after aeration. The palate is enveloping, generous, with a gourmand and chocolatey attack. It expresses notes of very ripe black plum, chocolate prunes in the background, crushed morello cherry, chocolate cherry, blackberry, wild strawberry, as well as a pronounced but enveloped spiciness (licorice, seeds of roasted cumin, white pepper, nutmeg), a touch of torrefaction (toasted almond, coffee in the background, a very subtle toasted wood) and aromatic herbs (bay leaf, peppermint, rosemary, roasted bouquet garni). The finish expresses structured but melted tannins, as well as gourmet flavors of chocolate cherry and a beautiful salivating acidity. Beautiful freshness on the finish thanks to tangy notes of fresh bigarreau cherry and dried red cherry.
